The 2nd Annual Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire was held at the Ford City Mall on the southwest side of Chicago. The event was organized by Jackie Moore aka “the Robotics Lady” of Agape Werks and the LevelUP Makerspace (also located in the Ford City Mall). She wanted to create a showcase for Chicago area makers with a focus on the diversity of people, thought, and making styles. She especially wanted to bring attention to Chicago’s southside maker community and expose the southside to the larger maker movement.
The event featured makers of all ages and abilities from making cardboard instruments that triggered audio samples, to digital textile machines, to fully functioning 3d-printed robots.
The 3rd Annual Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire will be held this year on August 8th, 2015 at the Ford City Mall.
